Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office

On Wednesday 11 th February 2004 commencing 7-30 p.m.

Present Councillors P Ashcroft, W Batty-Smith, J Cox, D Grimes, D Neal, R Penfold

Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 28 th January were approved and signed by the Chairman with the following addition

Re. Provision of Disabled Parking Bay after “no objection” add “we would point out that the proposed siting and the proximity of the yellow line would appear to mean that the conditions for establishing a disabled parking bay are not being met”

Decisions of NDDC Planning Committee

No.1047 and LB9155 Land at Cranleigh. Demolish one dwelling and replace with two. Refused.

No.1169 The Old Barn, Gold Street. Erect conservatory. Refused

No.1139 and LB9175 The Old Orchard, Stalbridge Weston. Erect single storey extension. Granted.

No.1142 6 Barrow Lea. Erect two storey extension and replace garage. Granted.

No.1158 Greenfields, Bibbern Lane. Erect extension. Granted.

Mrs Garton complained that Planning Permission had been granted for a single storey extension to The Old Orchard, under delegated powers

Mr W Dike explained that no progress had yet been made with regard to his planning application for a new Shop and residential development since June/July 2003 as terms and conditions regarding the Section 106 Agreements are still being discussed. W Batty-Smith said he would see if he could find out what is happening.

Planning Applications

No. 0074 South Farm, Cooks Lane. Erect single storey extension. It was proposed by P Ashcroft and seconded by J Cox that there be no objection and that the application be placed before the Committee as the previous application that the T C had not objected to had been refused by the Officers. All agreed

No. 1128 Grangewood, Station Road (land at rear) Revised plan for two dwellings. It is understood that there is a further revised plan and therefore no decision can be made until this has been seen.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-10 p.m.
