OPEN FORUM Planning matters only.

Mrs Moore, the applicant in respect of No. 0172 pointed out that the plot on which 24 Vale Road was built is a “double” plot and that if the additional property is built the amount of garden left will still be as much as most of the other properties. There will also still be room for 2 vehicles for each property to be parked “off-road”

Planning Applications

LB 9023 Internal alterations, Sturt Farmhouse. As this is purely internal no site visit had been made. J Cowley proposed and J Cox seconded that there be no objections and that the TC would be happy with the advice/decision of the Conservation Officer

No. 0172 Erect 1 dwelling, part garden, 24 Vale Road. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Cox that refusal be recommended for the following reasons

NM0 10/20 (RF 02,03,04) It is felt that this proposal would be overdevelopment of the site and result in a development of very cramped appearance and be detrimental to the visual amenity of the area and create a substandard residential environment. Bearing in mind that 24 Vale Road now has a Business Use it is also feared that increased roadside parking would prove to be a hazard. There is also the possibility that if this proposal is approved it could well create a precedent thus encouraging a great many more similar applications. If the Planning Officer disagrees with the Town Council’s view then we formally request a site visit and a referral to the Development Control Committee for a decision. All agreed

No. 0188 Community Hall, Erect extension. It was proposed by J O’Hare and seconded by R Penfold that there be no objection. All agreed.

There being no further business the meeting was declared closed at 7-55 p.m.
