Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office
On Wednesday 4th May 2005 commencing 7-30 p.m.

Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 23rd March were approved and signed by the Chairman.

No. 0966 Re-instate Keepers Cottage, Stalbridge Park. Granted
No. 0047 Cooks Farm. Siting and design for agricultural workers dwelling. Granted
No. 0126 & LB9017 Convert Stable Block to living accommodation. Stalbridge Park, Granted
LB. 9023 Sturt Farm. Internal alterations Granted
No. 0172 24 Vale Road. Erect dwelling in garden. Refused

Mr N Brown, Footpath Officer pointed out that the deer fence subject of PA No. 0409 crossed Footpath No. 49 and some provision for pedestrian access needs to be provided.

Planning Applications

No. 0387 Wilsfield, Ring Street. Erect extension, demolish garage. It was proposed by J Cox and seconded by P Ashcroft that there be no objections. All agreed.

No. 0408 Cranleigh, Church Hill. Erect two dwellings It was proposed by J Cox and seconded by D Grimes that this application be objected to as follows

The Town Council would reiterate comments made on previous applications for this site in that they feel that two houses and one existing bungalow on this site represent overdevelopment and would have a detrimental affect on the visual aspect of the approach to the Town. There is also the additional and very important problem of the dangerous access on to the busy main road.

In the event of Planning Officers not agreeing with the Town Council, they have asked D. Cllr G Carr-Jones to request that this application go before the Planning Committee All agreed

No. 0409 Thornhill House. Erect Deer Fence. It was proposed by J Cox and seconded by D Grimes that there be no objections provided that access to FP 49 is not obstructed. All Agreed

LB. 9058 Thornhill House. Retaining wall in garden. It was proposed by J O’Hare and seconded by J Cox that there be no objections. All agreed.

No. 0441 20 & 22 Grosvenor Road. Erect garages with room over. J Cox left the meeting whilst this application was discussed. It was proposed by P Ashcroft and seconded by J O’Hare that there be no objections and that a comment be made that the TC feel that the plans provided are ver clear and precise. All agreed.

Sth Som. 00820 Erect Hangar. Henstridge Airfield. Notification received that NDDC will be raising no objections. It was proposed by D Neal and seconded by D Grimes that the comments made by NDDC be supported. All agreed.

Notification received from NDDC that the owners of a Beech Tree at 6 Park Grove wish to fell it. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J O’Hare that no tree preservation order be applied for to prevent this. Carried on a vote of 4 in favour, 3 against.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-10 p.m.
