Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office
On Wednesday 24th August 2005 commencing 7-30 p.m.

Present Councillors P Ashcroft, W Batty-Smith, J Cowley,. J Cox, D Grimes, D Neal,
J O’Hare, R Penfold and I Semple Chairman, D J Hine (Clerk)

In attendance 6 members of the public

Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 10th August were approved and signed by the Chairman.

Decisions of NDDC Planning Committee

None received by Town Council

W Batty-Smith advised that the proposals at 18 Jarvis Way had been approved and also the Dikes Supermarket with various conditions and alterations i.e. Local Stone cladding to various aspects and moving the generator house

OPEN FORUM Planning matters only.

Mr & Mrs Lewandowski as neighbours of Arrandale objected to the application on the grounds of overlooking and invasion of privacy

Mr Frampton explained the lack of detail of the proposed windows in 9 Anglesey Cottages was due to not being to ascertain from NDDC precisely what is required. He also voiced various concerns about the application for No 8 Anglesey Cotts.

Planning Applications

No. 0786 Arrandale, Barrow Hi.. Erect dwelling and form access. It was proposed by J Cox and seconded by D Grimes that objections be raised on the grounds of a Chalet type Bungalow would be more appropriate and reasons RF02, 03, 04 and 05. also the TC to request a decision from the full planning committee. All agreed.

No. 0808 34 Vale Road. Single storey front extension. No objections proposed by J Cox and seconded by P Ashcroft. All agreed.

LB 9118 9 Anglesey Cottages. Replace windows. No proper details supplied of replacement windows. It was proposed by P Ashcroft and seconded by D Grimes that the T C have no objections to the windows being replaced but type and detail to be agreed with Conservation Officer. All agreed.

No. 0834 and LB 9126 8 Anglesey Cottages. Demolish shed and replace. It was proposed by J Cow and seconded by J Cowley that there be no objection but that permitted development rights be removed and that the proposals go before the full planning committee. All agreed.

Other planning matters

J Cowley requested a follow up letter be sent to NDDC regarding the provision of Low Cost homes on the Station Road Car Park development. Agreed
Clerk to write

Re. The proposed Supermarket Development. J Cowley felt that the TC should write and express disappointment that no public site meeting was held. W Batty-Smith pointed out that a site meeting was held some time ago at which the public were allowed to state their views. J Cowley proposed a letter be written to the Chief Executive. Carried on a vote of 4 in favour 1 against (4 abstentions)
