Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office
On Wednesday 16th November 2005 commencing 7-30 p.m.

Present Councillors P Ashcroft, W Batty-Smith, D Grimes, J O’Hare, R Penfold
D Short, and J Cowley,

In the absence of The Chairman, D Neal, J Cowley was unanimously elected Chairman.

Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 19th October were approved and signed by the Chairman.

Decisions of NDDC Planning Committee

LB 9146 Turnpike Cottage, Gold Street. Internal alterations. Granted
No 0912 South Farm., Cooks Lane. 2 single storey extensions. Retrospective. Granted
No 0913/4 Brean, Station Road. Single storey extension and modify Car Park Granted
No 0940 4 Vale Road. Single storey extension Granted
Sth. Som. Erect Biorefinery . NDDC have raised no objections. However, W Batty-Smith provided a copy of a letter written by Mr Hammond of Dev. Control to Sth. Som expressing considerable concerns about the project.

OPEN FORUM Planning matters only.

Mrs Forman re. PA for Redbank. She would hope that any windows that look towards Little Under would be obscure glass and also pointed out that there is a problem with on-street parking causing congestion in the area

Town Plan

This item was transferred from the Agenda for the T C meeting at the request of D Cllr G Carr-Jones. It was agreed that the proposed forming of a Town Plan needs to be taken forward firstly by the formation of a Steering Group. G Carr-Jones volunteered to endeavour to do this and D Grimes and R Penfold agreed to represent the Town Council on the Group. Information to hand regarding the process of producing a Town Plan was passed to G Carr-Jones. The Chairman thanked him for taking on this project

Planning Applications

No. 1070 Stanbrook, Station Road. Change of use from agricultural land to domestic use. It was proposed by P Ashcroft and seconded by J Cowley that there be no objection. All agreed.

No. 1071 Stanbrook, Station Road. Erect stable block and store. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by P Ashcroft that there be no objection. All agreed.

No. 1039 The Goat House, Thornhill. Erect Agricultural dwelling. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by P Ashcroft that there be no objection. All agreed.

No. 1050 The Goat House, Thornhill. Erect feed store. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by D Grimes that there be no objection provided suitable arrangements are made regarding continued use of FP No. 49. All agreed

No. 1054 Redbank, Grove Lane Erect garage with first floor extension. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by P Ashcroft that there be no objections but a comment made regarding on-street parking and congestion. All agreed. It was also agreed to write to DCC Traffic Section regarding the on-street parking.

Sth. Som. Henstridge Airfield. Erect two wind turbines. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by D Grimes that previous comments regarding non provision of an environmental impact survey be reiterated. All agreed.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-20 p.m.
