Planning Applications
Sth Som. 03949/FUL Henstridge Airfield. Sale, storage and depollution of motor vehicles. It was proposed by W Batty-Smith and seconded by J O’Hare that refusal be recommended on the grounds that
There is a distinct possibility that the depollution of motor vehicles would result in the pollution of local water courses which would have a disastrous effect on the environment.
Increased industrial activity of this type would undoubtedly lead to an increase in light pollution
It would appear that this application is contrary to the proposals of the Henstridge Airfield Masterplan
Sth. Som. 03271/FUL Henstridge Airfield. Increase in number of resident aircraft. A letter received from the applicant explaining the reasons for this application, however it was agreed to reiterate previous comments recommending refusal.
It was agreed to write a separate letter to Sth. Som. expressing the Town Council’s concern regarding all the different applications and the overall development at the airfield.

Correspondence
Letter received from NDDC requesting factual information regarding the use of land at Priors Down, the subject of an application for a Certificate of Lawfulness.
Whilst it is common knowledge that the land has been used for various purposes over the years the only factual evidence the TC has is an article in the Blackmore Vale Magazine dated 05.11.2004 detailing the set up of a business dealing in Land Rover repairs and parts. Apart from that we have no knowledge of any planning applications or of the erection of any buildings in addition to those in situ being relics of a war-time camp. However we do have details of the present address of the previous owner and also the present address of the previous owner of the neighbouring farm both of who may be of assistance.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-10 p.m.
