Minutes of Town Council Meeting held in the Town Council Office

Minutes of last meeting
The minutes of the last meeting having previously been circulated to Councillors were approved and signed by the Chairman.
OPEN FORUM
C Cllr D Fox advised that he has been in touch with Mr Ackerman of DCC regarding a visit to Stalbridge to discuss pedestrian crossing and speed of traffic and various other highway matters and it is hoped to arrange this for Monday 26th June

Cllr D Short was thanked for touring Stalbridge with the public address system to encourage residents to attend the public meeting
Library proposals – next step
After studying 3 draft letters, the final draft of a letter to E Taylor was agreed. It was also agreed to ask that a delegation be allowed to attend the Committee meeting on the 15th June. It was also agreed to provisionally book a bus to take protestors to the meeting. Adverts to be put up in usual places and in the BVM advising that free transport would be available. It was also agreed to hold an informal meeting on Monday 5th with Hugh DeIongh and Hillary Ritchie to try and work out ways in which the Town Council could support the Library.
Property Insurance renewal/inventory
It was agreed to postpone this item to the next full meeting
Councillors’ Reports/Questions
As the Clerk advised that no further information was to hand regarding Section 106 agreements as discussed at the meeting with NDDC, it was agreed to chase this matter.
Clerk to progress
R Penfold asked if there were any other small Hall available for meetings of the Oddfellows as the Methodist Hall would be closing. It was suggested he contact Stalbridge Hall booking agent
J O’Hare advised that there is a system for getting young offenders to spend some of their time working in the Community and provided contact details. The Clerk will contact and obtain further details.
Clerk to contact
D Neal reported that at the DAPTC area meeting he had asked for their support in protesting about proposed Library closures. This was eventually agreed.
He also advised that when Bus Passes are used on buses, the driver should issue a ticket, to prove that the passenger actually used to bus
