Minutes of the Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office
On Wednesday 26th.July 2006 commencing at 7.30p.m.

Confirm minutes of the last meeting
The minutes of the last meeting having previously been circulated to Councillors were approved and signed by the Chairman.
Councillor O’ Hare was also present at the last meeting.
Proposed by J. Cox and seconded by J. O’Hare.

Planning Applications
No. 0666 Land adjoining Cranleigh Erect No.1 dwelling/modify vehicular access.
It was proposed by D. Grimes and seconded by J. Cox that the Town Council would object due to the prominence of the site at the entrance to the town and would wish to see a single storey dwelling in this location.
The Town Council have no problems with the access subject to Highways approval.
The Chairman read a draft reply to Mr. And Mrs. Hatcher’s letter re the above property.
It was proposed by J. Cox and seconded by D. Grimes to send it unaltered.
All agreed.
Pruning Work on Eucalyptus Tree at Moorcroft, Stalbridge Weston.
It was proposed by J. O’Hare and seconded by J. Cox that there be no
objections as the tree is very big and is causing problems to neighbours.
All agreed.
02775/FUL Bio-refinery at The Marsh, Henstridge
The Chairman reported that he had met John Waltham at the airfield. The appearance of the refinery would now be more compact and the steam plume drastically reduced due to different construction. There will now be no lagoon
or extraction of water from the River Cale. The stainless steel chimneys will
be higher 130 – 140 feet; the height is determined under Government rules.
The whole plant will be coloured to camouflage it and an earthen bund with
trees on top will help to hide it. The traffic will be controlled as much as
possible by the company.
It was proposed by D. Grimes and seconded by J. Cowley that there be no objections. All agreed.
Clerk will write to South Somerset, c.c. to NDDC.
There being no further business, the meeting was closed at 8.20p.m.
