Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 15th November were approved and signed by the Chairman with the following additions

Item 4

J Cowley requested that his comments regarding Sth. Som. Application No. 03271 should be minuted i.e. “Any consent to increase the number of resident aircraft should surely take into account that, should BRA depart, the number of fixed wing aircraft would increase to compensate for the loss of gyrocopters”

Item 5

Although the Clerk emphasised that the letter from NDDC asked for factual information only it was proposed by J Cox and seconded by J Cowley to write a further letter to NDDC regarding the application for a Certificate of Lawfulness pointing out that it is believed the site was designated as ancient woodland and querying whether it could be contaminated by obnoxious fluids which would in turn affect ground water and pollute water courses and if there is adequate provision for the disposal of sewage. It is noted that a visibility splay is shown on the plan and part of the driveway shown coloured brown although it is stated that there is no significance in this.

(Clerk’s note 18.12.06 Certificate of Lawfulness refused by NDDC on 15.12.06, therefore above letter not written)

Mr M Pinkney, Signpost Housing re. Pond Close

Mr Pickney produced a proposed plan for additional housing on part of the open land in Pond Close as an extension to the Pond Walk development. The plan also shewed an alternative paddock which could be used as an open area to replace that taken up by the new proposals. After some explanation and discussion Councillors agreed that they were reasonably happy with the proposals but would await the Planning Application before making any official decisions. In the meantime it was proposed by W Batty-Smith and seconded by J O’Hare that the Town Council agree to relinquish part of the land leased from NDDC and known as Pond Close as shown on the plan. All agreed. A discussion regarding the additional land offered to be placed on next Agenda

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-10 p.m.
