Minutes of Planning Committee Meeting held in the Town Council Office
On Wednesday 13th February 2008 commencing 7-30 p.m.

Confirm minutes of last meeting and decisions of NDDC Planning Cttee

The minutes of the Planning Cttee meeting held on 31st January were approved and signed by the Chairman.

Decisions of NDDC Planning Committee

No.0640 Variation of Condition 6 to allow development work to commence during the implementation of traffic management scheme. Granted

Notification received that No. 1349 Signpost Housing for development adjacent to the Library has been withdrawn. Also that the appeal against the enforcement notice in respect of industrial use of land at Priors Down has been refused

Planning Applications

No.0049 The Sawmills, Station Road. Extension to Office It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Wardell that there be no objections. All agreed.

No.0084 Jasmine Cott. Wood Lane. 2 storey Extension It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Wardell that there be no objections provided that the workshop is not used for business purposes. All agreed

Sth.Som. 00119 Unit 8 Marsh Lane. Erect workshop It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Wardell that there be no objections but express usual concerns about additional traffic movements which could affect Stalbridge. All agreed

00378 Reinsate use as part of airport Henstridge Airfield. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Wardell The land concerned, as shown on the Masterplan, is to be retained as a prime area of open space within the airfield. This status should be retained in its entirety. Provision could be made however, for its occasional use as a parking area for ‘Open Days’ and ‘Fly-Ins’: the number pf days per year to be closely defined.
00408 Remove prohibition on aerobatic aircraft. Henstridge Airfield. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by J Wardell that refusal be recommended. However after some discussion a vote was taken with the result that 2 were in favour of refusal, 2 against with 1 abstention. The Chairman voted against and therefore Stalbridge TC have no objections to this application

00203 Erect facility for Air Ambulance. Henstridge Airfield. It was proposed by J Cowley and seconded by that although the return of the Air Ambulance is welcomed, we consider that it should be located on an area of the airfield that is scheduled for development, and not in a location designated as ‘a prime area of open space’ within the airfield, as identified in the Masterplan Carried 5 in favour, 1 abstention.

There being no further business the meeting closed at 8-10 p.m.
