2022 Lantern Parade

Stalbright is responsible for insuring the parade.
Therefore we require all participants in the parade to be registered in order to be covered by our insurance.
So, in a nutshell, no registration, no wrist band, no insurance cover - no joining the parade.
Here's a FAQ section to help you get ready:
Don’t forget to wrap up Warm & make it festive with Santa hats etc. & please bring bells, whistles and shakers.
How do I light up my lantern?  battery powered torch, LED light or a small set of fairly lights. Don’t forget to check your batteries are good for the event and no naked flames are permitted.
Is there an age limit to take part in the Parade? - There is no age limit to participate.
However any children being registered MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Where do I go to join the start of the Parade? - The parade start point is at The Guggleton Farm arts project in Station Rd
The parade will form up from 5pm ready to leave at 5.30pm

How do I register to take part in the parade - If you would like to register for the parade click on the image above
How do I get my wrist band ?  – On arrival find a marshal with a high vis jacket who will direct you to where you can get your wrist bands.
How will I know where to go? – The route leaves The Guggleton at 5.30pm, Marshalls will help you cross Station Rd  and then the parade will go across the car park and through Stalbridge Close. We will re-form in Stalbridge Close and when the A357 is closed will process towards the Ring.
What happens when the parade gets to The Ring? - The Ring, The Cutting and a stretch of Lower Rd adjacent to Anglesey Cottages are safe viewing areas as the roads will been closed to traffic. When we get to the Ring the lantern parade will continue up the A357 and enter The Ring from the lime tree end ready for the Christmas Carols lead by the Churches of Stalbridge and the lighting of the Lime Ring tree.

On arrival at the Ring the lantern parade is over and parents are responsible for the safety of their children.
(Whilst on The Ring please take care near the edges that have a drop and ensure there is no climbing up and down the walls)

After the lighting of the lime tree please ensure you exit The Ring in a safe manner through the lit points only.
PLEASE DO NOT EXIT OVER THE WALL ADJACENT TO LOWER ROAD.
So there you have it!  If you have any questions, get in touch with us via email  clerk@stalbridgetowncouncil.gov.uk .
All Good have a GREAT PARADE
