As part of the Town’s commemorations to the 100th anniversary of the ending of the First World War, the Union Flag will be flown on the Ring on Wednesday 8 August. The Battle of Amiens took place on 8 August 1918, involving British, Australian, Canadian, French and US Forces. The subsequent Hundred Day Offensive, was a four month period of Allied advances, resulting in the signing of the Armistice on 11 November. Comments are closed.
